About me???? what does one write for this? I have been doing art all my life, actually from the age of five or so. I had the usual young girl facination with horses, baby animals, etc. I learned sewing at the age of seven and was making clothing for others in my teens. I've always had an entrepeneural tendency and made things to sell from my earliest recollection. There were painted T-shirts for people that worked with my dad, pictures drawn of pets, if I could make it and sell it......I did. It didn't hurt that both my parents and my siblings were all extremely talented in one way or another. My mother was a prominent pencil artist/watercolorist through the 1970's and 80's and owned the best custom frame business in Arizona during the 1990's. My father would try almost anything at least once and being his sidekick I experimented right along with him. We experimented with lost wax casting, gem cutting and polishing, silversmithing, and he excelled in woodworking, photography and pretty much anything he tried.
For the first 38 years of my life I created, managed many different restaurants, crafted custom wedding cakes, catered weddings and major events, married, had two lovely children (who are now lovely adults) worked in the semiconductor industry, Had numerous surgeries on my legs, worked at The Phoenix Zoo, finished/refinished and sold furniture, went to college for a degree in business mangagement, cared for many, taught/trained over 3,000 people and divorced.
For the past 19 years I've been creating, met and married the love of my life and aquired my third, and youngest child, as I fell in love with and absorbed his one year old daughter into my life, too. Had numerous surgeries (again), became disabled in 2003, became a first time grandmother in 2014 for my birthday, and have been working hard to network and connect with artists and crafters to get to the point that I'm at now. I'm blessed to say that as of 2015 I will be in two major, national level events, (Phoenix Comicon and Art Unraveled) and I hope to increase that two-fold by 2016.
I feel extremely blessed in my family and all the friends I've made through the years through my blog and now predominantly through FaceBook. I hope you come along with me as I learn and grow, and please feel free to contact me anytime.
